Safe Online Shopping
Shopping online is as safe as mail order shopping or shopping in the high street, providing a few simple
precautions are taken:
Erotic Bliss recommends that you check the following on any website before you commit to buy:
- They are based in the UK, so your consumer rights are the same as if you were shopping mail order or in
the high street.
- The merchants safeguard your credit card details with securely encrypted checkouts. Never enter your
credit card details online unless you can see a locked padlock
at the bottom of your browser or an 's' following 'http' in the web address. These signify secure pages.
- They safeguard your personal details and will not pass them on to others without your permission.
They should have privacy policies or statements which confirm this.
- They publish their contact details on their websites.
- They have clear returns policies, in case you are not happy with the goods purchased
- Check delivery details and charges. Any delivery charges will be added at the checkout before you are
asked for your credit card details.
- Print out the order confirmation at the checkout stage. This should also be e-mailed to you, so ensure
that your e-mail address is entered accurately when requested.
- Save or print the traders web page advertising the goods or services that you are buying in case of a dispute
Did you know?
You have extra protection if you pay UK traders by credit card online. If you have a claim against the seller for breach of contract or misrepresentation.
For example if goods were not supplied or were faulty, you may also have a claim against your credit card
issuer even if the seller goes out of business.
This applies to goods or services costing more than £100 for one item (but less than
£30,000) with UK based traders, even if you have only used your card to pay a deposit.
Remember, you do not have the same protection if you pay by a debit or charge card.
